Rosendo " Eppie " Ochoa

Rosendo "Eppie" Ochoa, age 44, of Hammond, Indiana,  passed  away at his residence on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Eppie is survived by his loving mother, Irene Ochoa (nee Herrera); Uncle, Joseph (Elida) Ochoa; Aunts: Mercedes Martinez and Martha Pagan; nephews: Daniel Ochoa and Jonathon Marin; niece, Alyzae Ochoa; great nieces: Leanna Ochoa and Kailee Gerhardt and many other Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Family and Friends. Preceded in passing by his father, Rosendo "Roy" Ochoa and sister, Maria "Lupita"  Marin.

Eppie was a longtime resident of Hammond and East Chicago. Graduate of Hammond High School, Class of 1994. He was currently employed at Red Robin Restaurant, Schererville, Indiana and longtime employee of McDonalds and Gino's Steakhouse, Merrillville, Indiana. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and the Bulls. Eppie volunteered his time in the summer months serving as Umpire and Coach of the East Chicago and Indiana Harbor little Leagues. Eppie was always the life of the party and enjoyed singing and joke telling, but mostly loved to sit around with family and friends and talk politics of the day. His sudden and unexpected passing will be a great loss to his Mom and their family. He was a true gentleman and loved all of his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 3:00-6:00 pm at Oleska-Pastrick Funeral Home, 3934 Elm Street, East Chicago, Indiana. Prayer Service will be held at 5:00 pm with Deacon Ray Helfen, officiating. Private cremation services were held at the convenience of the family.
