Evangelina "Eva" Lozano, age 63, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away February 10, 2021 at Methodist Hospital Northlake Campus. Eva is survived by her Pride and Joy "her boys" that she helped raise from an early age: Isaiah and Elijah Davidson; her loving siblings: Elida (Joseph) Ochoa, Edwardo (Lisa) Lozano and Enrique Lozano; Cherished Tia to many loving nieces and nephews, including: Ericka Ochoa, Maria Eva Ochoa (fiance Travis), Elida Lozano, Kathryn Davidson & Enrique E. (Clare) Lozano, many other loving relatives and friends. Preceded in passing by her parents, Evaristo "Tito" and Irene Lozano and brother, Evaristo Lozano.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St Patrick Church, 3810 Grand Boulevard, East Chicago, Indiana with Father Carlos Sosa, A.I.C., officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Private Cremation services will follow. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Oleska-Pastrick Funeral Home, East Chicago, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations to St Patrick Church in Eva's honor would be appreciated.
Eva was a lifelong resident of East Chicago and a longtime employee of the City of East Chicago. In Eva's younger days, she worked for the Boca Raton Community Hospital, Boca Raton, Florida. She was an active member of St Patrick Parish and loved to volunteer her time and talent at all of the special events at the church. She especially looked forward to helping her fellow Parishioners at all of the fish fry's during the 40 days of lent. Since 2013, Eva was a Lay Ecclesial Minister for the Gary Catholic Diocese. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. And when she wasn't working, she enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends. She will be remembered as a caring and loving sister and aunt and her willingness to help others. Her love and kindness will also live on in the memories of all of her loving family and friends.
