The store was renamed by all the children in the neighborhood and was just called " Wally's" (Candy Store). Delphine, known as Mrs. Wally by all the children in the neighborhood enjoyed visiting with all of her customers, especially the children. She was a longtime resident of East Chicago and was a longtime active member of the former St John Cantius Church. She was a member of the White Eagle Club and the Polish National Alliance and many other civic and charitable organizations. Her home and heart were always open to all of her family and friends.
