For many years, Delphine and Wally owned the Midwest Grocery Store located on the 3800 block of Pulaski Street in Indiana Harbor. They served the best lunch meats and candy in town. The store was renamed by all the children in the neighborhood and was just called " Wally's" (Candy Store). Delphine, known as Mrs. Wally by all the children in the neighborhood enjoyed visiting with all of her customers, especially the children. She was a longtime resident of East Chicago and was a longtime active  member of the former St John Cantius Church. She was a member of the White Eagle Club and the Polish National Alliance and many other civic and charitable organizations. Her home and heart were always open to all of her family and friends. She was a kind and generous person who always smiled and loved to laugh. She will be dearly missed by all of her loving family and friends.
