Darinka " Dara " Ivanovic

Darinka "Dara" Ivanovic, age 87, longtime resident of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020. She is survived by three loving sons: John (dear friend Diana Ostoich), Danny and Nick (Mara) Ivanovic; Proud Grandmother of: Matthew, Danielle, Andreas & Jordan; loving sister of Jovanka and many family, friends and kumovi. Preceded in passing by her husband,  Mateja Ivanovic.

Private Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at St George Serbian Orthodox Church, 4021 Elm Street, East Chicago, Indiana with Father Aleksandar, officiating. At Rest, Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, Indiana. Due to COVID19, only immediate family will be allowed to attend. A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date.

Dara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be remembered for her faithfulness, strength, charisma and willingness to help others. Dara was a devoted and longtime member of St George Serbian Orthodox Church, volunteering many hours cooking and serving at the many special events held at the Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed cheering for her Chicago Cubs. Her home and heart were always open to all her family and many friends.
