Alicia " Licha" Vega

Alicia " Licha " Vega, age 57, of Hobart, Indiana, formerly of East Chicago, IN, passed away, Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at St Mary Medical Center, Hobart, Indiana. She is survived by her loving son, Nicolaus D. Vega and four loving grandchildren, Adrianna, Nicolaus, Jr., Emelia and Sophia Vega; beloved sisters, Virginia Vega and Christina Vega and brother, Domingo Vega; special nieces: Diana Vega, Elizabeth Vega; great nieces, Amelia and Mikaela and many other loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends. Preceded in passing by her parents, Domingo and Maria Vega; Sister, Alicia "Lichita" who passed away at a very young age and who Alicia was named after.  Also preceding her were sisters: Maria Alvarez, Juana Vega, Dominga Vega and Rosa Vega, and her  brother, Jesus Vega.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M. with Funeral Service at 6:00 P.M. at Oleska - Pastrick Funeral Home, 3934 Elm Street, East Chicago, Indiana. Private cremation service will follow. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the family. Facial Masks will be required.

Alicia was a lifelong  resident of the Calumet area and member of St Patrick Church of East Chicago, Indiana. She was a longtime employee and General Manager of many restaurant businesses throughout the  area. When Alicia wasn't working, her true joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. Alicia's memory will be deeply cherished in the hearts of her loving family and many friends.
