Wanda A. (Gwazda) Onesko

Wanda A. Onesko (nee Gwazda), age 95, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away Friday, June 14, 2019. Cherished  wife of 56 years to the late Michael G. Onesko; Loving mother of:  Michelle  T. (Peter) Wiethe, Gregory F. (Loria) Onesko, Michael J. Onesko (Stewart Cewe) and Raymond P.  (Bernadette) Onesko; Son-In-Law, Richard (late Marianne) Sznerch; Proud Grandmother of: Jason (Lisa) George, Geoffrey George, Brian Onesko, Aaron Onesko and Nicole Onesko; Dearest Great-Grandmother of: Helena George and Ruby George; Fond  Sister-In-Law of Janet Gwazda; many Nieces, Nephews, Loving Relatives  and Friends. Preceded in passing by Husband, Michael in 2006; Loving Daughter, Marianne Onesko Sznerch; Sisters: Helen Zbierski and  Florence Gwazda; Brothers: Ted Gwazda  and Walter Gwazda; Parents, Frank and Anastasia Gwazda; Brothers-In-Law: Rev. John Onesko and Basil Onesko and Sister-In-Law, Eva Onesko.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Croatian Church, 4754 Carey Street, East Chicago, Indiana,  with Monsignor Rev. John J. Siekierski, officiating. At Rest, Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, Illinois. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Oleska-Pastrick Funeral Home, 3934 Elm Street, East Chicago, Indiana and also on Thursday at Holy Trinity Croatian Church from 9:30 AM until time of Mass.

Mrs. Onesko was a lifetime resident of East Chicago, Indiana, and  a longtime member of Holy Trinity Croatian Church. She was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and  grandmother. Wanda will be remembered for her strength, charisma, quick wit and willingness to help others. Her love and kindness will live on in the memoriesof all who knew and loved her.
