Salvador Lopez

Salvador Lopez, age 85 of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 with family at his side.  Survived by his beloved wife, Rose M. Lopez; loving father of: Guadalupe Chapa, Jesus "Chuey" Lopez, Salvador "Chava" (Sally) Lopez and Maggie (Isidro) Flores and son-in-law Gary Gordon; proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren: Rudy (Dawn) Gonzalez, Christine & Gina Chapa, Lauryn (Sean) Hildebrand, Ezra, Titus, Ana & Rosie Lopez, Simon Lopez, Ashley, Isabel & Esperanza Flores; loving great grandfather of 2 great granddaughters: Jericho and Jonah; fond brother of Teresa Lopez, Patricio (Juanita) Lopez, Jose (Victoria) Lopez and Maria (Ramon) Cortez; many nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in passing by his loving daughter, Blanca E. Lopez; son-in-law, Augustine Chapa; siblings, Carlos, Ramon, Rosa and Luis Lopez and  parents, Manuel and Maria Guadalupe Lopez.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar Street, East Chicago, Indiana.  Burial Services will  follow at St John-St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Oleska-Pastrick Funeral Home, 3934 Elm Street, East Chicago, IN. Family and friends may also visit at the OLG Church on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until time of Mass.

Salvador was a longtime resident of East Chicago, Indiana and was retired from Inland Steel Company after 37 years of faithful service. He was a member of USW local 1010 and the Inland Steel 25 Year Club. He was a true gentleman whose kindness and integrity will live on in the memories of all who knew and loved him.
