Nicholas G. Mendez

Nicholas G. Mendez, age 19 of Highland passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Community Hospital, Munster, Indiana. Nicholas is survived by his father, Simon, Sr. (Raquel) Mendez and Mother LaTanya (Vincent) Ruiz and Bestest & Kindest Brother, Simon, Jr. (Valerie) Mendez; also loving niece, Bella Mendez; loving nephew, Simon Mendez III.; Paternal grandparents, Miguel & Juanita Mendez; Maternal Grandmother Nieves; And many other loving brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, family & friends.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 10:30 AM directly at St Joseph Catholic Church, 5310 Hohman  Avenue, Hammond, Indiana, with Father Richard A. Orlinski, officiating. Friends may visit with Nicholas' Family on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Oleska-Pastrick Funeral Home, 3934 Elm Street, East Chicago, Indiana and also on Thursday morning at  St Joseph Church from 10:00 until time of Mass. At Rest, St John-St Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Nicholas loved all of his family very much. He had the Heart of A Lion with attitude and an infectious smile. Nicholas was the STRONGEST Mendez there ever was. His Dad and Stepmother and Bestest Brother Simon and all of his family will miss him dearly. Expressions of Sympathy in his memory may be made to the family. We Thank all of our family and friends for your support of Nicholas and our immediate family. We will never forget all your love and prayers throughout his life and now during this very difficult time. Nicholas has touched all of us in so many ways. We were lucky to have him with us, even though it was for such a short time.
