Maria DeJesus Gonzalez

Maria DeJesus Gonzalez, age 92 of Crown Point, Indiana formerly of East Chicago, Indiana passed away Friday evening, January 3, 2019,  surrounded by many Family & Friends at the Wittenberg Village Nursing Home in Crown Point, Indiana. Loving Mother of seven children: Pedro, Jr. (Mary) Gonzalez, Elba (Louis) Rivas, Doraelia (Max) Iglesias, Rudy (Laura) Gonzalez, David (Kim) Gonzalez, Roberto (Arabella) Gonzalez & Olga Lydia (Jose) Cortes; one sister, Eulalia Manzo and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces &  nephews, Also Special Friends and Caregivers: Esmelda Garcia, Maria Correa and Erma Rodriguez and many other friends and family. Preceded in death be her parents and her loving husband Pedro Gonzalez in 1994.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 12:15 P.M. at Oleska-Pastrick Funeral Home, 3934 Elm Street, East Chicago, Indiana, with Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, East Chicago  with Father Frank Torres officiating. At Rest, St John-St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana. Friends and family are invited to visit with Maria's Family on Sunday, January 3, 2019 from 3;00-7:00 p.m. at the Oleska-Pastrick Funeral Home. Memorial Donations in Maria's Memory can be made to Wittenberg Lutheran Village at 1200 E. Luther Drive, Crown Point, Indiana 46307.

Maria loved her family and friends very much. And in the last few years, became a member of a larger family when she became a resident of the Wittenberg Lutheran Village. Maria had many joys in her life, but none bigger than her loving family. Her Home and Heart were always open to all of her family & many friends. Her integrity and kindness will always live on in their memories.
