Louis R. Campos, age 86, of East Chicago, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at St Catherine hospital surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret "Margie" Campos; Beloved father of four: Louis, Jr. (Linda Beth) Campos, Christina (late Robert) Arredondo, Jacqueline (Joe) Vaca & Anthony Campos; Dearest grandfather of 12: Dominick Campos, Yvonne, Katherine, Roberto, Jr. & Esther Arredondo, Michael & Raymond Campos, Alyssa & Alexandra Vaca, Tyler, Daniel & Carly Campos; 10 special great grandchildren: Jacqueline, Michael, Jr., Mya, Dominick, Noah, Alex, Elena, Chloe, Delilah & Camilia; also many nieces, nephews, family & friends. Preceded in passing by his parents Dominic Campos & Esther Campos Villagran; also, 2 brothers: Raul and Jesus "Spider" Campos; 1 sister, Estella Campos.
Visitation will be held at the OLESKA-PASTRICK Funeral Home, 3934 Elm Street, East Chicago, IN, on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. with Funeral Services at 7:30 P.M. with Monsignor Rev. John J. Siekierski officiating. There will also be Military Honors performed by the American Legion Post 369 & Post 508 at 6:00 P.M. Private Cremation Service will follow. At Rest, Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana.
Louis was a longtime resident of East Chicago and retired from Inland Steel with over 32 years of faithful service. He was a Proud Veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country during the Korean War. Louis was a former member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Indiana Harbor and was currently a member of St Stanislaus Church, East Chicago. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 508 and United Steelworkers Union Local 1010. He was a loving husband, father & grandfather. His integrity and kindness will live on in the memories of all who knew him. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Campos may be made to his family.
