John Rozman, age 94, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away at his home on Monday, April 9, 2019. Preceded in passing by his loving wife Emily in 2015, also his parents John, Sr. and Veronika Rozman and loving sister, Mary (John) Punak. John was the Beloved Uncle of Cindy (Jerome) Rossa, Nancie Lyons, Lori Steele, John (Heidi) Lazinski, Jim (Jill), David (Barbara) and Michael (Cindy) Smolen, many great nieces & great nephews, family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 15, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1801 Atchison Avenue, Whiting, Indiana with Pastor John C. Henry, III officiating. Entombment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, Indiana with Military Honors by American Legion Post's 369 & 508. Viewing & Visitation with the family will be held Monday Morning at the Church from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Service.
John was a longtime Resident of East Chicago, Indiana. He was a longtime employee and retiree from Northern Indiana Public Service Company. As we all know, John loved to work. So after his retirement, he wanted to help the City of East Chicago and started working for the Electrical Department. He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran serving his Country in WWII. He was an active and longtime member of the former Holy Trinity Slovak Lutheran Church, Indiana Harbor, St Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whiting, Indiana and the American Legion Post 369. John was always kind and helpful to all of his family and friends. His kindness and integrity will live on in the memories of all who knew him. John's family extends its deep appreciation to his caregiver and friend, Krystyna. We will never forget how good you were to our Uncle John.
