Eduardo Venegas

Eduardo Venegas, age 82 of East Chicago, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Eduardo is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Genoveva (nee Rodriguez); devoted and loving father of three daughters: Juana Venegas, Leonor Cheek and Cecilia (Paul) Nuncio; friend and son-in-law, David Cheek, Sr.; Proud grandfather of: Pilar Garcia, David Cheek, Jr., Elena Cheek and Lilly Nuncio; dear brother of Justino Sanchez and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, many other loving relatives and dear friends. Preceded in passing by his two grandsons, Miguel and Carlos Cheek.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar Street, East Chicago, Indiana with Father Carlos Martinez, A.I.C. officiating. Private cremation services will immediately follow funeral mass. Family and friends may visit with Mr. Venegas' family on Thursday, May 30 from 4:00 thru 8:00 PM at the OLESKA-PASTRICK FUNERAL HOME,3934 Elm Street, East Chicago, Indiana 46312. Friends may also visit with the family on Friday morning from 10:30 AM until time of mass. Memorial donations to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, East Chicago, in Mr. Venegas' honor would be appreciated by his loving family.

Mr. Venegas was a longtime resident of East Chicago, Indiana and was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. He was a Crane Operator for Inland Steel where he retired with 35 years of service. He was also a member of the Inland Steel 25 year Club and USW Local 1010. His integrity and kindness will live on in the memories of all who knew him.
