Bertha Rodriguez, age 83, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 and Munster Community Hospital with all of her loving family at her side. Survived by her 3 loving sons: Frankie R. Gonzalez, Jose B. (Denise) Lugo and Anthony M. "Tony" Rodriguez; Proud and loving grandmother of 8 grandchildren: Joel, Monica, Veronica, Dawn Lugo, Elizabeth (Joseph) Martinez, Briana Lugo, Christopher Galvan and Anthony, Jr. (Jennifer) Rodriguez; Loving great grandmother of 7 great grandchildren: Julissa, Daniella, Joel, Jr., Julian, Jillana, Estevan and Izaiah; loving sister of: Gloria Flores, Rebecca Clarkson, Sylvia Castillo & Ramona Guerrero and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in passing by her parents, Michael & Juanita Rodriguez; and siblings: Yolanda Torres, Rose Espinoza and Michael Rodriguez, Jr.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 17, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Avenue, Hammond, Indiana with Father Charles A. Mosley, officiating. Visitation at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial Service will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Oleska-Pastrick Funeral Home, 3934 Elm Street, East Chicago, Indiana (one block North of Columbus Drive-US 12.) Prayer Services will be held on Thursday evening at 6:00 pm with Deacon Ray Helfen.

Bertha was a longtime resident of the Indiana Harbor section of East Chicago, Indiana. She was a former employee of the School City of East Chicago. She was a former longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She was an adoring mother who truly loved spending time with her family.
